Altar Servers
These men and women serve the community by assisting the priest during weekday and weekend Masses, as well as other liturgical celebrations (weddings, funerals, baptisms, etc.). Their responsibilities include dressing the altar for mass, carrying the cross and candles in procession, and assisting the priest during Mass and Communion. Children & teens who have received their First Holy Communion are welcome to participate in this special ministry. Adults are also encouraged to join to assist at weekday and funeral Masses.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
The Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (also referred to as Eucharistic Ministers, EM’s or EMHC's) are entrusted with the responsibility of assisting the priests and deacons in the distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ. Youth and adults who are confirmed are welcome to serve as an EMHC.
Lectors
Lectors proclaim the first and/or second reading at weekeday & weekend Masses, as well as special services. Lectors may also lead the Psalm (in the absence of a cantor) and the Prayers of the Faithful at Mass (in the absence of the deacon). Youth and adults who are confirmed, may serve as a Lector.
Ushers & Junior Ushers
These men and women provide hospitality at our liturgical celebrations by assisting with seating, taking up the collection, and directing both the Offertory and Communion processions. Ushers also greet our faith community at the entrance to the church before each Mass, distribute the weekly bulletin, and tidy up our worship space before and after each Mass. To serve as an Usher, you must be in in Middle School, High School or an Adult. To serve as a Junior Usher, you must have received your First Holy Communion.
Sacristans
At every mass, Sacristans are responsible for setting up for both the Liturgy of the Word and Liturgy of the Eucharist, which means preparing all the books, linens, vessels, & offertory when appropriate. Sacristans are also responsible for ensuring proper treatment of the Holy Species and keeping the Holy Tabernacle secure. To serve as a Sacristan, volunteers must be Confirmed and at least 21 years of age.
Tech Team
Tech Team members run our screens during liturgical celebrations. No special tech experience required, but proficiency with computers is preferred. Familiarity with OpenSong is a plus! If you are in Middle School, High School or an Adult, you can become a part of this important ministry.
Livestream Team
Our Livestream Team is a step up from our Tech Team and volunteers will receive all Tech Team training too. Livestream Team receives additional training in order to operate our YouTube and Facebook Livestream feeds during Saturday (Spanish) Mass at 6:00pm, Sunday Mass at 11:30am, funerals and other livestreamed events. Familiarity with YouTube, Facebook, OBS Studio and/or Castr are a plus! To serve on our Livestream Team, you must be in High School or an Adult.
Medical Response Team
This critical team is composed of medical professionals such as physicians, nurses, and emergency medical technicians who can provide assistance in the event of a medical emergency during Masses.
